George Thompson's 1st Amateur Radio license, 8CZN, March 31, 1926.
Note that it is stamped that there will be no transmitting from 8:00 to 10:30 PM or during Sunday morning church services. The license was issued by the Secretary of Commerce, Herbert Hoover.

Amateur licensing also required a "Description of Apparatus" application describing their transmitter and antenna that they will be using.
