Frank W3NV visiting at K3LR in 2012

Frank's home station

It is with deep sorrow that I report the passing of Frank W. Cooper W3NV. He was 93. Frank's elmer was Stu Perry W1BB. Stu gave Frank his Novice exam. Frank was licensed for more than 80 years and loved to work DX. Frank was very active on the bands. He enjoyed comparing notes on which signals were being heard. Frank recently enjoyed working Z81D, Diya. South Sudan was the last one needed to have them all worked! Frank had 366 Worked / 365 Confirmed. Today I received Frank’s QSL card from Z81D, and I will be sure to send it for credit. Frank had many plaques on the wall, but was especially proud of DXCC Honor Roll Phone, and A1-Operator awards.
73 & RIP Frank,
