W5KNE, Robert B. Winn was first licensed in 1955 as WN5KNE in Plano, TX. Bob moved to Goodyear, AZ in 2021. Over the decades he operated as K4WAR (1955), DL4EM (1956-1957), VK9YW (1987), XE0KNE (1987), W5KNE/VE1 from CY9 (1988), VK9XN (1992), VI9XN (1993), CY9DXX (1988), CY0DXX (1989), W5KNE/NH8 (Oct. 8, 2008)

. He was the editor of "QRZ DX" from 1983-1995. His interests other than DXing included photography, restoring old photographs, genealogy, webpage design, amateur radio history and collecting old and Interesting QSL cards. He had a collection of sand from different Islands.

Bob was a very good friend. He had several large collections of QSL cards. He sent me these collections over the years for my own collection and to put up on hamgallery.com. If you go to http://hamgallery.com/QSL_Search/ and type in W5KNE, you will see the many QSL cards that went up courtesy of Bob. Bob was also excellent in doing research. He researched hundreds of hams from the QSL cards I put up on hamgallery. His FB research would then be added to the QSL pages. We would exchange emails almost on a daily basis over many years.
