Tribute to Robert Michael Kanner - W6OXE
1936 - 2005

W6OXE Bob Kanner left us in August, 2005. He was my best friend, but I know nothing about ham radio. Just thought you could list him on your website as a silent key. He originally got his license in Brooklyn in the mid 1950's when he was in high school. He was a founding member of the radio club at Madison High School there.

He was issued this callsign after he moved to San Francisco in the 1970's to be Chief Engineer at KFRC. Prior to that he had been VP/Engineering at WMCA, New York City.

He moved to Los Angeles in 1977 to become Chief Engineer at RKO Radio's stations KHJ-AM and KRTH-FM, and remained at those stations for the rest of his career.
