John J. Datko Jr. of 323 Monroe Ave., Youngstown, OH., (1932 callbook). He belonged to the Youngstown, Ohio Navy Communications Reserve (NCR) in the 1940's. He moved to Sharon, PA and worked at Westinghouse. He went on active duty as a Warrant Officer Specialty Radio Electrician. His wife was Carmel Marie Datko of Sharon, expired in 1998, Sun City, AZ. He is listed on Feb. 21, 1945 as lost or missing at sea. The USS Bismarck Sea, a light carrier was hit by a Kamikaze. There was a great loss of life. His body was never recovered from the ship tragedy. She sank in 45 minutes from bomb ordinance exploding. There were 318 deaths, of a crew of 860 men. Born 1914, sk 1945.
