Jim was first licensed in 1933 at age 15. He was a well known and famous DXer. Jim won over 200 certificates and awards in his 53 active years on the air.

Jim proudly posed in 1961 at the Channel 12 WKRC Cincinnati studio. Note the station ID on the light fixtures. He received the Arne Trossman Award for outstanding performance and dedication to be the first person in the world to earn over 200 Amateur Radio Achievement Awards.
