Who was John Gorrell from Chicago Hts., Ill?

Anyone know a callsign?

I have tried every method I know -- and I know a few -- and found only one reference to a  "John Gollett" and amateur radio. A letter by a John Gorrell  was published in the November 1920 issue of Radio News complaining about being unable to find info he could use to build equipment. He gave his address as 1661 Thorn St., Chicago Heights, Illinois.
I easily found him in the 1920 census living at the Chicago Hts. address. This John is 16 years old, perhaps too young. His full name is John Ellison Gorrell.
I found no amateur radio callbook  listing for "Gorrell" from 1913 to 1931.
