CX0MA 1962
Yacht Alferez de Navio "Campora"
The Ø seems to have been used
only for Maritime Mobile or Military stations.
The card is from the military yacht "Cámpora" on it's
round-the-world trip 1962. The itinerary is roughly outlined on
the world map.
Around the World of the Alférez
Cámpora Yacht
On January 31, 1960, Lieutenants Jorge Nader and Carlos Costa,
and Marine Guard José Firpo left, making a journey that lasted
34 months, sailing all the seas of the world aboard a fragile
yacht.
It is known that, initially, a fourth navigator would participate
in this journey, Ensign Cámpora, who, attacked with
appendicitis, died a few days before the trip.
That is why in his memory, the remaining sailors baptized the
yacht with his name.
