Zane Grey (1872-1939) was the famous writer of Wild West novels, and you or your dad probably read them avariciously. You must have seen many of the films that were made from them. He was also a traveller and world-class fisherman; he visited New Zealand in 1926. This card was mailed from Auckland, New Zealand, in January 1927.

The operator is not Zane Grey, but Karl E. Zint. Karl Zint later had a long career as a sound engineer in films. For example, the film "Zane Grey's King of the Royal Mounted" from 1936.
