Chinese Junk PANG JIN of Hong Kong
The Chinese Junk Pang Jin was
built by three Americans in Aden.
One of the crew, Rex Purcell, told the story to roving newspaper
reporter George W. Polk. They were going to sail the Pang Jin
from Hong Kong to the World's Fair in New York.
Five days out of Aden the Pang Jin sank in the Red Sea. All
members of the crew were saved by the freighter S.S. Olga E.
Embiricos.
