In 1968 Collins had built a 70 Foot yacht in Newport Beach, CA. he named Peregrine. It was fiberglass, powered by two 500 HP GM diesels, cruise performance at 20 kts, range 2000 miles! He operated it for nearly 20 years as recreation and testing equipment shipboard. Peregrine was his office and home during visits to his CA. facility.  The yacht featured a large central conference room.
