XSV1SM 1938
SV1SM in 1938 was Nasos Coucoulis.

Spiros is the M.M.W.O. (Merchant Marine Wireless Operator) of a
ship. Vessel's name and nationality not mentioned, but the
position indicates he is off the Brazilian coast halfway between
Pernambuco and Bahia, exactly on the merchant ship route Hamburg
- Bremerhaven - Montevideo - Buenos Aires. Since this is not the
route a Greek ship would take, one might assume Spiros is not on
a (Greek) ship with a Greek home port, but calling regularly in
Buenos Aires. So he asked Ricardo Ladaelli, LU2CW (a buddy?) in
BA to handle his cards. Just a guess, but it makes sense.

The X before SV = Mobile or Maritime Mobile station during
1925/1939. In the case of XSV1SM it is the "maritime
mobile" station on a greek ship.

XSV1SM is a call operated by Spiros not related with SV1SM Nasos
Coucoulis from Greece.
SV1SM is the former call of Nasos Coucoulis who changed it into
SV1AC when he became a member in the EEP (now RAAG).I enclose a
scan of SV1AC´s card, designed by Norman F. Joly (SV1RX) in the
1930's which Nasos still used in 1961. Under the sticker one can
see the former call SV1SM.
Operator: Spiros, Near the Cape Verde Islands
