The operator used 2 callsigns, KL7WAH for the ham bands and AL7WAH for the Military Affiliate Radio System (MARS) Network.
For those who haven't heard of MARS, that was a system "back in the day" where soldiers could use the radio system of Army assigned frequencies for phone patches to call "back home."
This was especially popular during the Vietnam war and MARS is still around today.
