HA5AM/ZA 1958 Albania
In the years after WWII Albania had remained silent (except for an 1951 operation by a Yugoslav as ZA1AB).
Janos Emmer HA5AM worked as the communications officer aboard an airplane that flew from Hungary to Albania every week. Twice in January 1958, while they were on the ground in Tirana he put the aircraft transmitter on the air and operated as HA5AM/ZA for an hour. A handful of W6's worked him on 20 meter long path each time. That was Janos' last operation from Albania. He had been monitored by Albania's internal communications and was no longer permitted to enter the country, even as a flight officer on official duty.
