7X2VX 1964 Algeria

Operator William J. "Bill" Porter became a naturalized American citizen in 1936.

His callsigns were K1YPE, K1YPE/XV5, HL9AA, 7X2VX,  FA2VX and possibly W3AAC.
I believe K1YPE was also CN8EP, F0ADL and XV5AA (club?) SM5CAK

Bill was US Ambassador to Algeria.

In 1973 he was head of the US delegation that signed the peace agreements with North Vietnam, in Paris.

I believe his callsign, AL2VX, may have been a callsign issued by the U.S. Military Auxiliary Radio System.

He was born September 1, 1914, in England and became a Silent Key March 15. 1988.
