FA8DX 1947 Algerie

This was an operation by ten American operators, January-March 1947,

Has anyone any information about this? How did a gang of American operators
get a license to operate from Algeria at a time of great political uncertainty ?
All the other FA Algerian cards I have seen have been from French nationals.

CQ Magazine, dated September 1954, reports:"John Hall, W5ETK, now settles down for some home hamming, after stints at W1JSV, D4ATG, DL4TG, FA8DX and SV0WQ".
