RADIO BETTY 1926 Argentina
This is an interesting YL card
from 1926 . RADIO BETTY (no call-sign yet) in Buenos Aires -
apparently a reception report - although a 5-watt transmitter
indicated on the card - to F.C.3 in Rosario.
Operator - Betty G. Quchen ( as I read the signature on the card
). These no-call QSLs may have been some kind of novice license,
perhaps? I have a RADIO CASTELAR from the same year, from
Castelar in Buenos Aires Province, and a RADIO CRUCERO , used in
1929, and overprinted with a rubber stamp LU8JL which will have
been a later call. Early Argentine calls were two letters plus a
number. The famous Carlos Braggio CB8 had the first licence - DA8
- shown on his QSL card.
There must have been a lot of activity in South America in the
1920's
that we never hear about.
