SN1AA 1929 Ascension Island

Ford Smith of Cable & Wireless Ltd., was on Ascension in 1927-29.
The "SN" was the intermediate for Ascension Island (source: June 1928 Callbook). Actual prefixes for amateurs were not authorized until the late 1920's.

The back of the card says: "This station is only licensed for Amateur communication with passing ships. I was not given a call sign and so am using the prefix "SN" which was allotted to this Island under the old scheme.
