U9ML 1938 Asiatic Russia

Vince Rosso, W5KC, in Plaquemine, Louisiana and E. I. Morochkin, U9ML in Sverdlovsk, USSR had a CW contact on October 17, 1938. On the same day Vince mailed a Letter to U9ML and included a post office return Receipt card. The receipt card indicates that U9ML received the letter on October 30, 1938, signed the card and it was returned to Vince. The return receipt card may have served as a QSL card, because Vince typed the QSO information along the top of the receipt card: "W5KC QSO UR 14m.c. CW sigs 3/11/38 @ 1:20am RST 569." U9ML sent his QSL card to Vince via the bureau.
