VK4EI 1936 Australia

QSL card sent to Barbara Dunn G6YL.
Started as a SWL in 1925.
Licensed in 1927 at EG6YL, Britian's first licensed YL.

Hello – I just found your website while idly googling, something I hardly ever do – but I googled my new(ish) callsign to see if it had any interesting links online and oh boy am I blown away! My name is Lyn, I am Irish born – actually, on site at Malin Head Radio station EJM, where my father worked for many years and was OC for a time. I now live in Australia, and acquired my ham radio licence in 2004 VK4SWE, living on Sweers Island OC-227, a much sought after IOTA. Last year, a good friend spotted that VK4EI was available and urged me to apply, partly because of the EI Irish prefix and partly cos we love CW and it is so short to send on CW! I was lucky enough to get it. Now, I see that one of the original VK4EI contacts was with G6YL and I just find her whole history (per your website) fascinating ! and it gives me a thrill to think my predecessor worked this innovative station/YL.
