VP9WW 1949 Bermuda Island

Oscar Ernest Eswine, U.S. Navy CPO, retired, W4SFA, VP9WW.
Eswine was a cruiser sailor during World War II, aboard the USS Cleveland.
He graduated from electronics school at Corpus Christi, Texas and was assigned to VP-45 in Bermuda in 1947.
He was promoted to chief petty officer while on a fleet tug Papago while enroute to Bermuda. He retired in 1958.
He was born August 9, 1920 in Illinois and died October 18, 2000 at Merritt Island, Florida.
