C8GW 1927 China
I have never seen a C8 card from the twenties. I have looked thru the 1927 call book and they are all AC# cards. I also have the 1931 International Amateur radio Association of China callbook dated 1931 Volume 1 number 8 that lists all their members and no C8 only AC#. I checked for the suffix of 8GW and found in the 1940 call book XU8GW, H.Y. Tsien of Shanghai. Patrick Rigg
In the collection of "eF8JMS" card's between 1927 to 1930, I found a QSL of China 3FR, without the C or the AC prefix. Remember if he used AC3 he would be in Sikkim, but he was in Hong Kong. Also just C3FR. Also I have a scan of the QSL of C9NR, a QSO in 1939, without a AC9 prefix! But I agree that C8GW was active after 1940. F2VX
The 1927 date on the card looks very clear but probably was a mistake. All my other C# cards are in the 1940's. K8CX
