XU8RA 1940 China

The operator was 18 year old Alva Ray Appel.  He was the son of Adventist missionaries and leaders in the Far Eastern, China and Middle East Divisions.
He followed in his parent's footsteps.
For a number of years he served the church in the China Division, Kiangsi and Taiwan Missions, Ceylon, Western India Union in Bombay and Northeast India Union in Calcutta.
In 1960 he returned to the United States and further work for the church.

He was born May 1, 1922 in Singapore and became a Silent Key December 2, 2006.
