CE0AE 1969 Easter Island
A U.S. Air Force unit was
stationed on Easter Island during the period February 1, 1966 to
March 31, 1971.
They used the call sign CE0AE until March 20, 1970, when Father
David Reddy was licensed as CE0AE.
The U.S.A.F. unit had their own QSL cards. This card is courtesy
of Chilean Air Force who apparently used the same callsign CE0AE.
The Air Force unit was Detachment 517 of the 1158th Technical
Operation Squadron.

Here is an interesting "DX
Tidbit" from "THE DXERS MAGAZINE" Issue 65: (from

It might interest some to know that there are no hams on Easter
Island.
None of the operators at CE0AE are licensed hams. Bear with them
during contests etc.
