HC2YL 1976 Ecuador

This is Darlene Souligny WA6FSC. Her first husband Gene WA6DKW became a sk from a heart attack when they were on a DX vacation trip to Tonga. Darlene later went back to Tonga and was active as VR5DK. She then went on a long world-wide tour operating from 39 different countries in five continents. 3B9DK Rodrigues, 5Z4NE, 5X5NF, WA6FSC/HC8, HV3SJ in the Vatican City, and JY9DK operating from the Royal Palace in Jordan in the company of King Hussein. All this was in the early 1970's. She then met and married her husband HC2OM in Ecuador, and obtained HC2YL. She lived there 5 years and their daughter Diane, KG5CS was born there. In 1977 Joe retired and they moved back to the States to Hot Springs, Arkansas. In 1992 Joe suffered a stroke and passed away December 26, 1993. Darlene wrote a book called "Globetrotting via Amateur Radio ".
