4X5RE / Sinai 1957 Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt

The Suez crisis was all about action by Britain and France against Egypt following the nationalisation of the Suez Canal. The UK and France "invited" Israel to invade the Sinai Peninsular. AFAIK the only British interest was in the Suez Canal (and until 1956 the Canal Zone, a neutral area administered by Britain until 1956). The Suez canal & canal zone are nowhere near Sharm El Sheikh. At the time of the Israeli invasion, Sharm El Sheikh was a major Egyptian Naval Base, which was effectively blockading the Israeli port of Eilat. This was the reason that the Israelis were keen to invade Sinai.

UK forces in the canal zone (until 1956) counted for Egypt, so I believe 4X5RE/SINAI also counts for Egypt.
