The headquarters of SHAPE in Paris, was temporarily located at the Astoria hotel. Place of star, in order to accomodate General Eisenhower from January 1, 1951, until June 1951. Name SHAPE is for "Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe". SHAPE will be transferred secondarily to Rocquencourt. The Astoria hotel which was used as a base for SHAPE was located at 133 Champs Elysées Avenue. It has nothing to do with the current hotel at 42 Moscow Street. It is Publicis Inc. which in 1951 was settled in the old Astoria hotel used by SHAPE. The building was destroyed. Which officers "operators amateurs" activated this International Amateur Station F7SHP.
