FO8AL 1955 Tubuai Island, French Polynesia

FO8AL was Edgar Hewlett Fritch, born 14 Oct. 1926 in Mahina, died 30 Nov. 1985 in Papeete.
He was the father of Edouard Fritch, born 4 Jan. 1952 in Papeete, who was elected President of French Polynesia in 2014 and again in 2018.
Edgar Fritch was "Inspecteur des Postes et Télécommunications". His assignment in Mataura (Tubuai Island) started in 1953, where he was responsible for the post office, the radio station, and the weather station.
His son Edouard, the later President of French Polynesia, stayed wth him on Tubuai until 1958.
