Lungwitz spent quite a bit of time in the Caribbean before World War II, and probably did not become involved with the plantation until some time during the war. He was the manager of the sisal operation at Plantation Dauphin, Cap Haitien, Haiti for about 30 years. At one time his title was Vice-president and General Manager of Plantation Dauphin, S.A. In the early 1970s a Texan named Lonnie M. Dunn, purchased the plantation and changed the company name to Port Dauphin, S.A. In 1972 Lungwitz was discharged and replaced by the assistant manager. Lungwitz spent his last years in Virginia. Donald Lungwitz, son of Arthur J. and Neva Lungwitz, was born July 13, 1913 in Aberdeen, South Dakota and died August 31, 1981 in Gloucester, Virginia.

I made an interesting find when I pulled apart my new-to-me Collins 75A-1. There are notes on the bottom of the chassis indicating this receiver was first owned by W4IL, and then from about 1954 to 1975 it appears it was owned by HH3DL as he noted on a few repairs! 73, James KB2FCV 8/2011
