K6OWQ 1938 Hawaii

Operator: Stanley T. Hamamura (K6OWQ), born 1916 in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. In WWII he served with the 100th Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team. As a private photographer he documented the war in Italy. He got wounded in Italy, which probably saved his life.
He died on Aug 30, 2002, and is buried at the "Punchbowl Cemetery" (Section CT5-V Row 300 Site 327: Memorial ID 147177708).
