KH6RE 1948 Hawaii

Naval Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, T.H.

I am Richard Edelman and I have held KH6RE since 1977. (Prior to that time, I was W3CYZ.)
Around 1975, we moved to Honolulu. I was on-the-air with a pair of homebrew 4-400's, a Kenwood R599/T599 and 20 and 40 meter inverted vee's up 25' on the roof.
The QTH was on top of Maunalani Heights overlooking Diamondhead Crater with a view 30 miles out to sea.
Lots of fun operating from that QTH! I did much CW so upgraded to extra and changed the call to the more CW friendly KH6RE.
