VU2DG 1948 India

My father Neil "Mac" McIntyre VU2DG / G3DUG was a career soldier in the Royal Corps of Signals.
He was born in India and post-war served in the Indian Army (then British India).
Posted to Deolali, he used the VU2DG station to keep the guys busy plus keep their skills up. They would see how little power they could get away with for long distance contacts.
Neil didn't start VU2DG. It was in use before he arrived in India.

Neil died in 1979 and sadly all of his own collected QSL cards got lost in time.

This is VU2DG, my dad in 1959, by then a Major, serving in (West) Germany.
The two little girls are my sisters, Stella, now 65 and Kate, now 67 (in 2022), attending the Unit Christmas Party!
Dad left the (British) Army in 1965 after 24 years.
