The operator was MSGT Weldon Appleton Martell, W6DYZ, ex-KA2WM, W5TMM, K3OWW and 5A1TF.
He enlisted in the Army, January 13, 1943, before he became a citizen of the United States.
He was born September 17, 1923 in Nova Scotia, Canada and became a Silent Key September 30, 2005 in California.
He is buried in the Dallas - Fort Worth, Texas National Cemetery. His headstone documents that he participated in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
