Meet Ray  W4FGW (1913-2001) and Evelyn Ewing - In 1947 the Ewing's were stationed at Yokosuka Naval Base Japan. We have a copy of his QSL card placed by the large output tube. At the time Ray held the rank of Ltjg - He served in WWII and the Korean war and retired with the rank of LCDR.  Ray rests at Barrancas National Cemetery Pensacola Fla. The Hammarlud receiver checks out with the receiver mentioned on his W4FGW QSL card.
