5A0RR 1993 Libya

We were having a barbecue at K3LR when Romeo was on with 5A0RR. Phil K3UA just worked him on 20 CW and ask him for a move to 40M. He said OK and that was the last he was heard from that operation. Later it was published that he was arrested and thrown in a Libyan jail for a while. Some of his Russian buddys were at Dayton in 2005 and said that whole story was false as they can guarantee that he was never in Libya... K8CX

Rumor has it that this operation by Romeo Stepanenko 3W3RR did not take place from Libya. It did not count for DXCC.
