VK1RB 1950 Macquarie Island

This is from the time before VK0 was assigned to Australia's Antarctic territories & stations used to be assigned a federal VK1 callsign from Australian Capital Territory. This one dates back to 1950 & since the station was opened in 1948, it is one of the earliest operations from Macquarie Island. I caught up with ex-VK1RB for their 50th year reunion via radio.
