W4HLO/J9 1946 Marshall Islands

ACRM Archie Erving Cannon, Jr. (1923-1993), W4HLO, son of Archie E. Cannon, was serving with Carrier Aircraft Service Unit Number 8 (C.A.S.U. #8) on Kwajalein Atoll in 1946.
His rank, ACRM, stands for Aviation Chief Radioman.

The first Atomic testing in the Marshall's Islands (Operation crossroads) happened between July 1 and  Aug. 10, 1946  with bomb "ABLE" on July 1 1946 and bomb "BAKER" July 25, 1946.
