He enlisted in the U,.S. Navy  August 19, 1953 and was discharged September 30, 1974.
He left the Navy with the rank of Radioman Master Chief (Petty Officer). He served during the Korean and Vietrnam Wars. 
He was born August 10, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and died January 26, 2008 in Portland, Oregon.
