XZ1K 2012 / 2013 Union of Myanmar

The QSL card for XZ1K was a temporary station that I operated a couple of times around 2012/13 from the town of Kawthaung at the tip of south Myanmar. This station was sanctioned by the governor of the province at that time.  However, I wasn't resident in Myanmar and the effort of carrying my ham equipment in a small boat across the river estuary from Thailand for each activation proved unrealistic.

I now hold the callsign XZ2A. I am the first resident amateur radio station in the country since 1962 - please check my details on QRZ.com.
