Gé (Gerrit) was employed as an officer in the Dutch army and was a member of the Orde Dienst.
He manned a broadcasting post in Doetinchem.
He was in a German prisoner-of-war camp in Eastern Poland from April 1943 to spring 1945.
He was liberated by the Russians in the spring of 1945 and followed the Russian advance throughout Poland and half of Germany.
The Allies then brought him to the Netherlands by truck.
Call expired 1958.
