W6RWQ/VR6 1947 Pitcairn Island

The event of the month was the sudden appearance of W6RWQ/VR6, operating from Pitcairn Island between May 15th and 20.

A ship carrying W6RWQ/MM onboard called at Pitcairn and was delayed by a storm.
So, the operator and Andrew Young  (pre-War VR6AY) started working with the latter's rig.
Andrew had not yet received his post war license. [Short Wave Listener, July, 1947].
