Janina Burchard was the first YL ham operator in Poland before WW2. She lived in Poznan', Western Poland (my home city). Her call-signs were SP3PYL and SP3YL in the "unlicensed" period (until approx.1933). Call-signs were then issued by PZK, without regulation by the Government. Later she became SP1YL in the "licensed" period since about 1934, when the Govt issued SP1, SP2 and SP3 calls. Her further whereabouts are unknown (to me).
