KP4QZ 1949 Puerto Rico

Born: March 4, 1890, in Hillhouse, Mississippi; SK 1951 in Puerto Rico, buried in Alabama, 1952(?). Per 1930 Census: writer, age 40, divorced, resides in Georgia, born in Mississippi.

During the early 1920's, Randal Julian Carnes KP4QZ was involved in fiction writing for a couple of years and this failed miserably. He had at least 2 stories published. He then went on to edit a Georgia magazine but I've yet to find a single copy amongst any of the small-town Georgia libraries. I suspect all copies are gone unless someone has a copy in an attic, etc... I'm a pulp magazine fiction reader, which is how I came across his name. Whenever I spot one of these oddly named fellows that nobody knows a thing about, it makes me wonder about those lost writers.

His fiction stories were printed in the following pulp magazines:
“Moonshine and Madness” as Ladnar J. Senrac in 10 Story Book (March 1930).
“The Star Act” as Ladnar J. Senrac in The Live Wire (June 1925).
He wrote under the alias "Ladnar J. Senrac," which is clearly just his name in reverse order.

If he was printed elsewhere, I've certainly had no luck finding his output. Definitely have never found any literature under his own name. It's possible he wrote for his small-town local paper, but I have never found anything there either.

Interesting that he was in ham radio for so long, back to at least 1926! Perhaps local history in Georgia might have something about him being involved in the radio field, or as a ham operator.

There you have it! A man with scant details. Clearly if he was a ham radio operator in Puerto Rico for so long, he must have been coming and going to the island vs Georgia quite often to appear in the 1930 census. Odd I can't find any migration details. Wonder what port he departed from....maybe Jacksonville, or perhaps he took a train down to Miami, then chartered a boat or bi-plane....who knows? Even Ancestry.com lacks data on him in the Migration sector.
