GM3LYS 1958 Scotland

The island of Ailsa Craig, also called Paddy's Milestone. The island is a huge rock 1100 feet high. GM3ITN, GM3LYS, and GM3KBZ operated from there in 1959 as GB2AC in hope that the ARRL would grant new country status.

GM3ITN Leslie Hamilton, GM3LYS Duncan McCansh, GM3KBZ on Paddy's Milestone.

They made 1000 contacts from Paddy's Milestone and only one from the USA due to the rock blocking in that direction. The contact was with Bob Martinez K2DGT. This is probably why! Bob used a 3 element 40 meter beam up 100 feet.
