EAR185 1932 Spain
EAR 185 (Sr. Edmundo Mairlot,
EA1AS after EAR conversion on 1934 to EA callsings) qsl addressed
to W2BKT (Charles W. Watson, Union City, NJ) confirming qso on
january 1932, and a letter addresed also to this station W2BKT.
I supose that EAR 185, one of the most active EAR station that
years, following his qso logbook addressed to all USA stations,
these letters requesting help and reports for the inminent solar
eclipse in that year (not sure but I think the eclipse was august
1932).
The idea was to stude and analize the impact of a complete solar
eclipse in the ionospheric comunications, there must be one of
the first amateur analisys on that phenomenal.
The amateur bands used were 14 mhz with normal conditions between
EA, EU and USA and 7 mhz, when dark area of the eclispe cross the
Atlantic ocean.
I think that some articles were published on QST that years.
Thats all, the letter explains itselves.
