"Hörde nödrop fran prins" on the Swedish newspaper clipper means "heard distress call of prince", "sikkim strategisk viktigt " means "Sikkim strategical important".

Thomas Schell, SM6AFH, licensed since 1962. He was born in 1944. He writes to Ulrich Bihlmayer DJ9KR:

"My future plans as a young boy were to "work on the sea" like all my ancestors. As I was wearing glasses, I was not allowed to become a captain. Therefore I went to the Swedish Air Force and became a radio officer. But then I met a nice girl from Falkenberg (40 km north of Halmstad), and I decided to stay on land to marry her.

I spent 4 years with the Swedish Air Force, then I went to Xerox. I worked for Xerox for 28 years as a service engineer. Most of the time I spent in Russia and Ukraine. My job dealed with optical and communications equipment. There I met many amateur radio colleagues, with many of them I made friends."

Stig Pärson, SM6EQS (passed away in 1992)

It was Thomas Schell who informed Stig Pärson about the distress call of the Chogyal, because Stig was working for a local newspaper. Also Stig had very good relations to the Swedish Government. Stig passed away in 1992.

Stig was born in Falkenberg. However, as a young lad, he went to Chicago as a barkeeper, „to serve drinks to Al Capone", as he used to say. He got his license when he was already an old person and had difficulties with his eyesight. After his return to Sweden during many years of was Editor-in-Chief of the local newspaper "Hallands Nyheter". Furthermore he was a friend of my parents in love, and so I got acquainted with him."

SM6AFH & YB0AAG received the distress call from AC3PT in Sikkim when the Indian troups attacked his palace. See story and photos!
