At age 12 Jo built his first radio set, oatmeal container and coil with a catwhisker detector.
After college Jennings hitched up with Eitel-McCullough and then started his own well known electronic business.
Jo started (Jennings Radio Mfg) in 1940 - In most everyone's junk box contains amongst pieces and parts, a Jennings variable capacitor.
Jennings first name is as given -Jo- Our subject was born in Council Bluffs Iowa.
There is another well known ham who was born there and had his Ham-Radio business, W0GFQ Leo Meyerson, founder of World Radio Laboratories.
