Operator: Kirby Strickland. Previous calls include WA9CMY, WA8NOS. Now SK. If he were still with us he would have celebrated his 94th birthday in August 2018.

He was in the 835th Signal Svc Battalion. Looks like he was stationed at various CBI (China-Burma-India) Theater communication centers. He would be sending radio (am-cw-teletype) traffic throughout the Theater.
It looks like they uses "W" prefix "Army callsigns" in China. I'm not sure why they would use "J" prefix in Burma and India.
