On January 11th, 1925 he narrowly escaped a fire in his fraternity house Alpha Tau Omega at Indiana University.
Three months later on April 4th, 1925 he was involved in a motor vehicle accident when he was ejected from the car and killed when it landed on him.
He was 19 years old.
