Wayne Green, W2NSD, became a Silent Key (SK) on September 13, 2013. An eternal optimist, ham radio publications pioneer, visionary, and one who loved to share his neverending zest for life. Wayne was part of the KC4AF Navassa Island DXpedition team in 1958 and KC4DX Navassa Island DXpedition team in 1972. Wayne used the callsign phonetics "never say die."

 

In WWII, Waynes Navy Submariner Service and war patrols was aboard the USS Drum SS-228
He was a petty officer second serving as electronic technician.
The DRUM has been kept out of the ship breakers and  restored. A longtime feature at Memorial Park Mobile Alabama.
This QSL card dated December 1946 and  W2NSD was just released from the service.
